Autumn Inspiration

It is officially Autumn and I feel that it’s time to make small decorative changes to our homes to enjoy the colder weather.

Some Autumnal images, inspiration to us all, to create comfortable and luxurious homes for the dark cozy nights.

Using rich earthy tones of colours, warm lighting and the essential scented candle light, a roaring fire, and soft fabrics to sink into.

The following images represent this colour palette and gives ideas to put different textures and colours together to create a warmer feeling.

Nature’s colour palette for Autumn

The essential roaring fires

A subtle splash of the colour burnt orange can make any room pop.

Perfect!  In more ways than one.  Mix of fur, leather, wool, in a neutral pallete with a splash of denim,

perfect mood board for a cozy living space.

A little bit of leopard print works in both contemporary and traditional fabrics.

It punctuates the design and gives an edge to the overall look.

Client’s Brief

Just had an appointment with a new client, to design his study, his brief was refreshingly specific and for inspiration we have this beautiful image.

Can not wait…

Winner of Interior Designer of the Year

We have won the Interior Designer of the Year Award for 2012/13.

Great night was had by all, in our beautiful Belfast City Hall, where Ian won the Award from People of the Year Awards.

Winter Scents

We have a wonderful new range of room scents in our House of Fraser store.  Beautiful packaging, fragrances are sublime and all at really good prices, ready for those organised people who buy Christmas gifts early.  The Room Sprays, Candles, and Diffusers –  scents are, Fig and Ginger, Clementine, and Nutmeg and Cinnamon.

Green with Envy

We have a wonderful client and we are currently putting a design together for his new abode.  His favourite colour is green, malachite jade to be exact, and I thought you would love to see some inspirational photographs with this exotic and sophisticated colour.

This beautiful Malachite wallpaper is available at our studio, in four colours.

Miles Reed use of green as an accessory colour, it gives a richness to the overall scheme.

Autumn Fire

The Autumn chill is in the air and we all love a fire with burning logs to sit at.  Some inspiration if you need to change your fireplace and our selection of fire surrounds available at our show rooms.

The studio at 665 Lisburn Road.

The fireplace is the focal point of the room to dress.  This is Christian Liaigre’s apartment in Paris.

It doesn’t have to be inside…

This fabulous surround is at our store in House of Fraser to see up close.

This log bucket is available in two sizes at our stores also glass fireguards to finish the look.

Textured Walls

We have increased our range of fabulous textured wallpapers, to cope with demand, and keep up-to-date with the new catwalk look for interiors.  I have shown some images of the latest textures and colours.  Great to use if you are designing the room in the same colour palette and need definition, or to inject block colour with texture for a contemporary feel.  Either way it steers away from the plain institutional look that paint can sometimes give, especially, on a contemporary build.  It looks as if silk or linen has been upholstered on your walls…

This would make a pretty background for a daughter’s room.

Great for a neutral room where you need different tones of colour and much needed texture or else the design looks flat and boring.

A closer look at the texture – it’s just like linen.

All colours of the rainbow.

Teal wall for a clients downstairs WC/cloakroom, it works well, wonderful colour for a bathroom.

This one is like Taffeta Silk.

Mur Vegetal

Living walls, full of lush plants, creating a green vertical garden in city centres now comes to Belfast.  The Skainos  project on the Newtownards Road, architect Nial O’Neill, has designed their new build with green walls creating a wonderful look for our inter city.

Patrick Blanc was the pioneer of this design for both exterior and interior walls in his home city of Paris, his designs are global now.  It’s magnificent and great to see locally.
